Defective Perfection

You have me under a spell
Whatever you say whatever you do
Does nothing but amaze me
And I just can’t get my fill,
There’s always more than meets the eye
And when they do connect
A warmth resounds from deep within
And it gives me such a thrill.

Every time we converse
Face to face or over the phone
It makes me fulfilled and absolute
And it’s a feeling that survives the night,
I have rarely been so fixated
Fanatical with every word you speak
You light a torch in times of darkness
And I want to relish in your delight.

Yet I can’t seem to articulate
Such kind words to progress
To a better place, a blissful romance
And it frustrates me to the core,
Sometimes it seems, as painful as it is
That the bud may never bloom
Although I will never fully surrender hope
And so I’ll pine for you more and more.
